The course aims to enable the participant to prevent all injuries and accidents when working from Ladders and ensure they are able to provide a safe area for other employees who may enter their risk zones.
Candidates will understand the differences between preventatives, protective, collective and personal control measures, from Outriggers, Safety Harness restraint equipment.
The course will cover the following topics:
Working at Height regulations, PPE regulations, Working locations and conditions, Risk Assessment of hazards associated with heights, Responsibilities, Anchor Points, Harness Checks, Use of harness, Climbing and use of lanyards, Ladder types and identification, Correct handling and storage of ladders, Practical inspection and identification of ladder faults, Safe Systems of work.
After completing the course participants should be able to work safely at height and understand full use of all equipment and safety precautions needed to prevent accidents. The participant will receive a Safe Working at Heights certificate on completion of the course.
